Terms & Conditions

By downloading or using Gift Guide you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app. We may update these Terms as the app changes; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Gift Guide can be used without creating an account, in which case your profile, lists and saved items live only on your device — clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app removes them permanently, and we cannot restore them. If you create an account with an email address and password or with Google sign-in, your Gift Guide content is also stored in your account so it is available on your other devices. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for the activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Gift Guide. You can erase everything, and permanently delete your account and its cloud data, from Settings → Account → Delete account.

You own the content you add — lists, items, notes, photos and messages. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content so the app can work, including sharing it with the people you invite. When you share a list or invite helpers, they can see what you have shared, so only add details you are comfortable sharing. Reservations, group pools and contributions are arrangements between you and the other people involved.

Recognition, search, recommendations and price estimates are generated automatically and are provided as suggestions only. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong — including the item name, brand, category, image, estimated price and suggested stores. Always check the retailer’s own page before buying, booking or paying.

Gift Guide links to third-party retailers, venues and booking sites. We do not sell those products or services and we are not a party to your purchase. Product information, stock, in-store availability, delivery options and pricing come from third parties and may change at any time — Gift Guide cannot guarantee that any of it is accurate, current or complete. Purchases, refunds, returns and disputes are between you and that retailer, under their terms.

Some features (including AI product recognition, barcode scanning, price-drop alerts, price comparison and unlimited lists) are intended to require Gift Guide Pro. Where a purchase is offered through the Apple App Store or Google Play, it is processed and billed by that store under its terms, and refunds are handled by that store. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change for future purchases.

Cash gifts, group pools and contribution amounts recorded in the app are a record you and your group keep — Gift Guide does not currently process payments, take card details or move money, and it never holds your funds. Any money actually exchanged is arranged directly between you and the other people involved.

You agree not to:

• upload unlawful, abusive, hateful, deceptive or infringing content;
• upload images or details of other people without their permission;
• scrape, reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the app or its providers;
• use the app for fraud, spam or to solicit money under false pretences;
• attempt to access another user’s account, list or data.

The Gift Guide name, logo, design, software and content are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. Retailer names, logos, images and trade marks remain the property of their owners and are shown for identification only.

We may suspend or terminate access to Gift Guide if these Terms are breached, if required by law, or if the service is discontinued. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated personal data.

Gift Guide is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from inaccurate product data, pricing, availability, AI results, missed occasions, third-party retailers or payments between users. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded; where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service or the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
